"Do you believe in God" - This references an interaction in the library between Valeen Schnurr and Dylan where Schnurr (already shot and injured) was approached by Dyland and she repeatedly said "O my God please don't let me die". Dylan responded by asking her if she believed in God. She initially responded with "no" before saying "yes". Dylan then asked "why" and she said that her parents taught her and she believes. She then crawled back under a table in a lying position. During this exchange Dylan was "reloading" his weapon... although that cannot be confirmed and the only thing that can be said with certainty is that he was doing something with the slide. Dylan then moved away and didn't interact with her again while she played dead under the table. It is not known why Dylan moved away or didn't shoot Schnurr again. He was having an actual conversation with her and even got an answer that he probably didn't want. I guess its possible he was focusing on his weapon or it had jammed and he was clearing it or maybe he just lost interest and was looking somewhere else. Eventually Schnurr saw two sets of feet leaving the library and attempted to wake Lauren Townsend who was laying next to her. Lauren was already dead and wasn't responding as Schnurr saw people whispering and moving towards the exit near the computer tables. She also stood up and left the library and remembers that the library was hazy with smoke and the alarm continued to sound. Now this whole interaction spawned a bunch of crazy things. Firstly, many people mistakenly attributed the story to Cassie Bernall, another student who was killed by Eric. Her only interaction with him was Eric banging his hand on the top of the table twice and saying "peek-a-boo" before shooting Cassie in the head. Schnurr actually heard this and said so in her testimonial. This was actually the shot that most likely broke Eric's nose as well. This misattribution led to a wide held belief that Bernall was the one who was asked if she believed in God and many Christians and churches held her up as a martyr. Her mother, Misty Bernall, authored a book called "She Said Yes" that propagated the false story and it became very successful. The whole thing made for a nice story and people are always looking for that uplifting positive story amid a crisis. I'm sure that Bernall's parents desire to have her story be as big or well known as others also played a role. I think it also was convenient because it allowed people to see Eric and Dylan as godless evil figures when the reality was far more complicated than that. Another interesting note is that Schnurs voice can be heard on the library 911 call.
Chris Morris - Chris Morris was a student at Columbine High School in 1999 and a friend of Eric and Dylan. In the immediate aftermath of the events on 4.20.99 he was considered a suspect for involvement and remains a leading candidate for conspiracy theorists who believe others were involved. This is for a variety of reasons. The first, in my opinion, is the confusion on the day itself. Multiple people reported more than 2 shooters and because of his association with Eric and Dylan his name came up. He also had a history of deviant behavior in school including a time when he pulled a knife on another kid. He was also absent from school on 4.20.99. I do not think that Morris was involved. He himself contacted the police when he realized what was happening and who was likely involved. Obviously, because of his circumstances, he was a suspect. When police picked him up they tested his clothes for gunshot residue, searched his house and computers, and had him take a polygraph test. Nothing came out that he was involved in any way. Do I think Eric discussed his plans in some way with Chris? Yes. FOr sure. He even admits it on the 911 call. Not that this means much though. People, especially teenage boys, say stupid things all the times to their friends and it wasn't anybody's responsibility to see through Erics manipulation.
Library 911 Call - On the morning of 4.20.99 art teacher Patti Nielson was on hall monitor duty on the first floor of Columbine High School. She noticed a student with what looked like a gun at the end of the hallway. She asked a nearby student, Brian Anderson, what was going on and he said it was probably some kids shooting a video and he allegedly told her it was Eric Harris. She started walking down the hallway to confront Eric and just passed through the double glass doors when Eric turned towards her and fired. The bullet grazed her shoulder and exploded the glass behind her causing shrapnel to go everywhere. She turned and ran, along with Brian Anderson, and despite Anderson being shot in the back while running, they made it upstairs and entered the library (a bad choice in retrospect). Once in the library she immediately called 911 from the circulation desk. The call connected at 11:25am. While librarians tell everyone to leave the library, Nielson tells students to get under the tables because she knows that the shooters are coming. She continues her call as Eric and Dylan enter the library and begin shooting students. She leaves the phone off of the hook and crawls into an adjacent room where two librarians are hiding. She remains in this room for 3 hours until they escape. Certain parts of the 911 call have been released. There are differing reports as to the actual length of the call. Some have said it is approx 30 minutes long while others have claimed that the call was connected for over 3 hours. If it was actually connect the entire time it is possible that much more audio was captured, including Eric and Dylan's eventual return to the library and their deaths. The parents of the victims were given the chance to listen to the audio of the call and some did. The police also allowed Brooks Brown to listen to the call in order to distinguish between Eric and Dylan's voices. Brooks said "During the shooting, you can hear Dylan saying all kinds of things to people before he kills them. But Eric doesn't. There's a very distinct difference between how the two handled that day. It's incredibly difficult to listen to, even if you don't know the people they're killing or who's shooting who." Patti Nielson was also given the opportunity to listen to it but she declined. In 2011 another section of the call was leaked that contained the killing of Lauren Townsend. I personally believe that the call is significantly longer than anyone has said. I made my own video transcribing what was said on the available portions of the call and then filling in the parts we don't have from the transcripts. That can be found here.
Basement Tapes Destroyed - According to Jefferson County the basement tapes have been officially destroyed along with other evidence from the Columbine case. According to former Sheriff Ted Mink he ordered them destroyed back in 2011. "That was my call," Mink says. "My decision. I can't tell you how to measure prevention. I feel in my own heart it was preventative." Now I am pretty sure that this just means the original physical copies were destroyed. I am 100% sure that digital copies of them exist both in Jefferson County and probably at the state and federal level as well. The tapes were also used as evidence in certain lawsuits against both Eric and Dylan's parents and pharmaceutical companies, but those files won't be released for many years. I understand the though process behind not wanting to release them but I think it's had the opposite effect. People have become more interested in the case and Eric because of the secrecy and lack of transparency. This quote from Brian Rohrbough, father of victim Daniel Rohrbough sums it up" "When you have Islamic terrorists cutting off people's heads on YouTube, it's hard to look back on those tapes and say they shouldn't be released."
Eric's Doom Levels - Eric had a well known interest in the video game Doom 2. He designed multiple levels for the game and even promoted them online. The files for the ones we have and a video of them being played are available here. He made more but we don't have any of the data for them. By all accounts they are pretty well designed. Its somewhat difficult to play them today and is probably best accomplished on an emulator. There have been some rumors that Eric designed in hints to his plans for 4.20.99 in some of his levels but I have never seen any evidence of that. There has also been the ascertain that playing Doom and designing levels somehow prepared him for his attack on Columbine High. Hundreds of millions of people play violent video games and live perfectly normal lives. I put very little stock into any assertions that Doom had anything to do with Columbine.
Multiple People Knew - This is a theory that goes all the way back to 4.20.99 itself. The idea that these two boys could prepare and execute the attacks without someone's help or at least other being aware of the plans strained credulity for some people. Both Eric and Dylan definitely made snide remarks to people and left clues behind, but this doesn't mean that they outright told anyone about their plans. I do not believe that anyone else besides Eric and Dylan had direct knowledge of exactly what was being planned. It's possible that they made off hand comments and remarks about wanting to blow up the school or kill individuals, but it probably never rose to the level of causing suspicion. My list of the top people who could have known would be Robyn Anderson, Chris Morris, Brooks Brown, and Kevin Harris... and I haven't seen any convincing evidence that any of them knew. Robyn told investigators that they never even talked about political/social philosophy issues and usually just played pool or watched movies together. I personally think the most likely person to have known something serious was going to happen was Kevin Harris. He and Eric had a pretty good relationship and its possible he told Kevin more than eh would tell anyone else.
Eric Visible in Window - This refers to multiple pictures in which people have claimed they can see Eric in the library windows. The most famous, in my opinion is this short clip showing someone moving in the library after the attack. They are wearing white and it was theorized that it could have been Eric. However, as is circled in red in the clip, the blood stain from Patrick Ireland's foot is already on the outside of the window. That means this clip must come from after 2:38 PM when he famously was rescued from the library window (video HERE and HERE). Then the question becomes who tf actually is it moving around the library on the afternoon of 4.20.99. A few of the paramedics were wearing white shirts but the majority of them were wearing blue. But they didn't get into the library until later in the afternoon so I am not convinced it is a medic. Could also be nobody and just a camera artifact. Another image that purportedly shows Eric in the library window is this one. The figure on the left does appear to be someone wearing a white shift with black straps over it similar to what Eric was wearing that day. However, the timeline is off and this could not be Eric because it was after his death. There are other photos which purport to show Eric but none are very convincing.
Taylor v. Solvay - This was a lawsuit between Columbine survivor Mark Taylor and Solvay Pharmaceuticals, the manufacturer of Luvox, the anti-depressant (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) that Eric was taking before 4.20.99. The lawsuit was filed on October 19th 2001 in the US District Court of Colorado and was a was a personal injury-product liability lawsuit. The case number was 01-B-2076-LTB-PAC. It ended with Taylor dropping the suit on Feb 6th 2003 in return for Solvay donating $10,000 to the American Cancer Society. Taylor was trying to say that Eric's use of Luvox caused him to be violent and in turn caused the personal injuries he received during the events at Columbine High School. Many people involved with the Columbine events were involved and even deposed for the case, including Eric's parents Wayne and Kathy. The court sealed all documents related to the case for 25 years back in 2007.There have been many claimed leaks of information such as their depositions, but none have been taken too seriously. There was this supposed leak of a page of Kathy's depo back in 2013. It's pretty generic boring dialogue and it looks pretty legit. However, it could easily be faked and only contains information that anyone interested in this case would have. There are legit court documents which I have available here. So now we get into the conspiracy parts of it. Mark Taylor's mother, Donna Taylor, began to claim that Eric and or Dylan were raped by police officers after their detainment for the van incident in January of 1998. She believed that this was a primary reason behind the events of 4.20.99. She may or may not be alive and living in a south American country. Taylor fell on some tough times later in life and was institutionalized in a mental facility. Many people believe that he was being drugged and targeted by the government, or law enforcement, or maybe even the pharmaceutical companies. Mark was also a proponent of the idea that the police were responsible for some of the injuries or deaths at Columbine that day. Taylor wrote a book about his experience at Columbine which for some reason you cannot find for less than $300. If anyone has a PDF copy I would love to link it here for people. When Taylor was institutionalized there were reports cited of him making bomb threats to bookstores... possibly related to his book in some way. The whole thing is a huge rabbit hole but this section is already too long so I am going to move on for now.
Robyn Anderson - Robyn Anderson was a friend of both Eric and Dylan and is best known for being the one who purchased the firearms used on 4.20.99. They had been friends for three years and were introduced by another common friend, Chris Morris. She was especially close with Dylan in the year leading up to 4.20.99 and they even attended prom together the week beforehand, although she said it was only as friends. She stated that she had been to Eric's house a few times but had never been into his bedroom... it must have been a specific question from the police interviewer otherwise it is an odd thing to say. The boys asked Anderson to accompany them to "The Tanner Gun Show" at the Denver Convention Center in December of 1998. Some reports say that they initially tried to purchase the guns themselves but were told they were too young. Anderson accompanied Eric and Dylan to the show and there they purchased the two shotguns and Eric's rifle. Anderson later stated that Eric only wanted to buy from private sellers and not from dealers because he didn't feel comfortable filling out the paperwork. Dylan made a $300 down payment for his Tec-9. The shotguns were a 12 GA Savage-Stevens 311-D Double Barrel shotgun (Dylan) and a 12 GA Springfield-Savage pump action shotgun (Eric). Both would be modified before 4.20.99. The rifle that Eric chose was a Hi-Point 995 Carbine. Anderson purchased all three. Anderson seems to genuinely had no idea what the boys were planning and had little knowledge about firearms. In her statement she refers to Erics Hi-Point as an automatic rifle, which it most certainly is not. In a later letter where she advocated for gun control, she stated that she wished it had been more difficult to purchase the guns because then she probably would not have done it. I am 100% positive that this would not have prevented what happened on 4.20.99. Anderson has always come across as sort of a ditzy low intelligence person to me. But on the other hand, Brooks Brown said that he never liked her, which makes me more inclined to accept her. Academically Anderson was very smart as was a candidate for valedictorian.... I guess she lacked the street smarts to see what was going on. She did a not very interesting interview with Good Morning America in June of 1999 that can be seen here. She might be working in Denver in the marketing field. So all that being said, I think the biggest conspiracy theory surrounding Anderson is that she knew what was going on before hand and either didn't stop it or was actively helping Eric and Dylan. I do not buy it and I am pretty sure she was an unwitting helper.
E&D Were Bullied - I think it is pretty safe to say that both Eric and Dylan were bullied during their time at Columbine High School. This is an especially easy statement to make considering the modern expansive definition of bullying. That being said, I do not think that there high school experience was that much different than other peoples and the bullying was definitely not as severe as many cases out there. They were not total social outcasts and all evidence points to them having a group of friends and generally normal social interactions with other students. If anything, Eric gave back the bullying worse than he received it. I mean, he threatened to kill Brooks multiple times. This article details that bullying did exist at Columbine, as it does at every single school in the world. Here is a Reddit post (so take any info contained therein with a grain of salt) about examples of Eric and Dylan being bullied.... and here is the counterpoint thread of instances of Eric and Dylan bullying others. Eric, somewhat obviously, had a very angry and confrontational personality. I am not saying it is a bad thing but it can lead to instances where a slight from someone, that others may laugh off or forget about, being treated as a severe insult. Reading through Eric's journals you can get a pretty good idea of how he felt. If I had to sum it up I would say he felt like he wasn't getting the respect that he deserved from his fellow classmates. I am sure that some of it rose to the level of bullying, but other things may have just been harmless or innocuous. The media and social/political groups certainly have used bullying, both in the context of Columbine and not, as a means for their own change. Some have even used the bullying Eric and Dylan received as a way to explain away their actions. So to answer the questions "were Eric and Dylan bullied?" .... yes. "Were Eric and Dylan bullies?" .... yes. "Did the sum of their social interactions, including bullying, contribute to NBK?.... yes.
Pumped Up Kicks - Pumped Up Kicks is a popular song from 2010 by pop group Foster the People. The song is written from the perspective of a disgruntled or ostracized teenager who is having homicidal thoughts. Some of the lyrics include "better run, better run, faster than my bullet" and "out run my gun". The song writer said that he wanted to "get inside the head of an isolated, psychotic kid" and "bring awareness" to the issue of gun violence among youth, which he feels is an epidemic perpetuated by "lack of family, lack of love, and isolation." The song is usually pulled from the rotation of national radio stations in the wake of school shootings... which makes sense because the song is literally about killing kids. The bassist of the group, Cubbie Fink, has said multiple times that he has a cousin who was a student at Columbine High School on 4.20.99. The song title "Pumped Up Kicks" refers to shoes that popular kids wear... idk I never wore shoes like that. I do not think that the song has any direct relation to Columbine but many people associate the two because of the context.
Green Mountain Guns - Green Mountain Guns was/is a gun shop near Eric's house in 1999. Eric ordered multiple ten round magazines for his Hi-Point rifle from them. When they came in the clerk from the shop called Eric's home phone to let him know they had arrived. Wayne, Eric's father, answered the call and, assuming the call was for him, or a wrong number, told the clerk that he had not ordered any magazines. Wayne owned his own firearms and had made purchases from Green Mountain in the past. Eric recounts this in his journal: "jesus christ that was fucking close. fucking shitheads at the gun shop almost dropped the whole project. oh well, thank god I can BS so fucking well. I went and picked up those babies today". It is also mentioned in the basement tapes, specifically on the 15th of March 1999 on tape #265. Eric says that a clerk called to say his clips are in and he overheard his father saying that he hadn't ordered any. Eric says that if his father or the clerk had asked even a single question, things may have started to unravel. I wonder how the actual phone call went. If anything else was said or if it was only 10 seconds and nothing else. Eric does mention that he can BS so well in relation to this event so I wonder if his father had any thoughts about it and asked Eric which forced him to lie. The call must have been an event that Eric truly believed could have been detrimental to his efforts because it happened on December 28th 1998 and he was still talking about in March on the basement tapes. Far be it from me to question, but I wonder why Eric put down his home phone number when ordering the magazines? It seems an unnecessary risk. I know he didn't have a pager or a cell phone... but just put a random number, or no number, then drive in a few weeks later and pick them up. No conspiracies here, just a phone call that we don't know everything about and people who think Wayne should have seen it as a sign of something.
Subway Murders - On February 14th 2000 two Columbine survivors, Nick Kunselman and Stephanie Hart-Grizzell, were murdered at the Subway restaurant at 6768 West Coal Mine Avenue in Littleton Co. This was only a few blocks south of the high school. They were a couple and Kunselman worked at the Subway. Hart went to the store near closing time to wait for her boyfriend to close up. Well after midnight, another employee happened to be driving by and noticed that the lights were still on. They went inside and discovered the bodies of Kunselman and Hart. They had been shot to death, both behind the counter. Unfortunately the security cameras had already been shut off for the night. The police released the description of a person of interest: Male - 16-20 years old - 150-17lbs. No suspect was ever found despite a $100,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. There a few theories about what actually happened that night. The first is that it was either random or a robbery that went wrong. The next is that it was drug related. Wither that it was a drug deal that went south or perhaps that the Subway was involved in drugs and that Kunselman was going to alert the authorities. My personal favorite is that they were both supposed to die at Columbine High School on 4.20.99 and somehow Eric came back and finished the job. The description of the suspect fits Eric's profile and the gun used was the same caliber as Erics Hi-Point rifle. A more in depth video on this occurrence can be found here.
Eric's Suicide Prank - This is in reference to a prank that Eric pulled early in his freshman school year, probably in the spring of 1997. Eric had met a girl named Tiffany Typher in his german class and eventually asked her to homecoming. She said yes but afterwards declined to go out again. Eric wasn't very happy about this (shocker that a 14 year old boy is disappointed over a girl rejecting him) and decided to pull a prank on her. He staged a video where he "committed suicide" by hitting his head on a rock and covered himself in fake blood that was leftover from halloween and/or ketchup. They later were on better terms near the end of their times at Columbine. I think it was just a silly prank that teenage boys often play and didn't have any more meaning than that. Tiffany makes an appearance in the Eric in Columbine video wearing an orange shirt. Typher is still alive but is currently battling cancer.
"Sorry Dude" - This is in reference to an interaction between Dylan and student Sean Graves. Graves was outside the school on the morning of 4.20.99 with is friends Lance Kirkland and Daniel Rohrbough. They saw Eric and Dylan with their firearms but initially they thought it was some sort of prank involving paintball guns. However Eric and Dylan shot at all three of them wounding them all. Rohrbough can be seen here to give some context as to the location. Dylan comes down the stairs and shoots Rohrbough and Kirkland at close range. Rohrbough dies instantly while Kirkland suffers major facial wounds but survives. Graves has been shot 5 times and crawls towards the commons side entrance door. He got stuck in the door because he couldn't move that well and while stuck Dylan uses that same door to enter the commons. While entering Dylan steps directly on Graves back and looks down and says "Sorry Dude". Dylan only spent a few moments in the commons, possibly checking on the bombs that had not detonated, then exited through the same door, stepping over Graves again, and headed back up the stairs. It is not known why Dylan did not shoot Graves again like he did with Rohrbough and Kirkland. It is also possible that Graves is purposefully/unintentionally lying about what happened. It's possible that he just laid there and Dylan walked past him and didn't say anything. Graves talking about the event can be seen here starting at about the 3:20 mark.
AOL Profiles - Eric had multiple AOL accounts and profiles. Some of them can be viewed here. His usernames all included some form of his nickname "Reb". His profiles usually mention his love of video games and Doom and contain the typical late 90s teenager nonsense. I am 100% certain that there are unknown/lost profiles and accounts that Eric used still out there. He had a well known affinity for foreshadowing and irony and I am sure that carried over to his use of the internet. Interestingly, on his profile page for REBDOOMER he includes the state motto of Colorado, "Nil Sine Numine". This is a latin phrase which means "Nothing without Providence" or "Nothing without God willing it". The phrase is derived from Virgil's epic The Aeneid Book II, line 777. He also lists his hobbies as "being cool" lol. I wish we had more of Erics online activity and presence but I am not sure we ever will.
Marilyn Manson - Marilyn Manson, whos real name is Brian Hugh Warner, is a popular rock musician. The media used the events at Columbine High School to push a false narrative that Manson's music was somehow responsible for violent behavior. There were multiple reports that Eric and Dylan wore Manson shirts during the attack. He was already controversial and he made for an easy target for the government and the media. It became a whole big thing and even has its own wikipedia page. As far as I can tell neither Eric or Dylan were particularly fond of Manson's music. It's kind of funny that Manson got such push back because Eric and Dylan were very much so fans of another band KMFDM.
Evan Todd and Dylan Interaction - Evan Todd was a student at Columbine High and was in the library on the morning of 4.20.99. When Eric and Dylan entered he was initially injured by shrapnel when Eric fired down the length of the counter. He then moved from the end of the main counter near the copy machine to under the counter. Eventually Dylan made his way behind the counter and THIS INTERACTION took place. It has been often speculated as to why Todd was spared but in my opinion, that was never the intention. Dylan was going to kill him but deferred to Eric, who didn't care/wasn't even paying attention because he had just broken his nose. When Eric showed no interest Dylan just walked away. I think it's entirely possible, maybe even probable, that at the point of this interaction that Dylan still believed that the bombs, which were directly beneath them, would still detonate. They may have assumed everyone in the library was going to die anyway which may have contributed to Dylan just walking away from Todd. There is a lot of discussion and debate about this interaction and we will probably never know the truth about it.
Hit List - This refers to a (S)hit lists produced by Eric and Dylan. Eric's can be viewed here. The names have been redacted and as far as I know they have never been leaked in full. Here are the supposed people from ERIC'S LIST and from DYLAN'S LIST. There has been some speculation about specific students. Many have said that nobody who dies on 4.20.99 was on the list while others have said that either Isaiah Shoels or Austin Eubanks. Some people who survived Columbine who may have been on the list are Branden Larsen, Nick Baumgart, Nick Foss, Dan Lab, Devon Adams, and others. Apparently the police contacted everyone on the list so the people who were on it know they were on it. Must be tough to know you survived and Eric listed you as a person to be targeted, almost as if he was singling out people to blame. Some people have claimed that a students Mom was on the listy and that even Erics aunt was on it. This makes you wonder exactly what the list was and if it was really a target list at all. There was also a list from Eric's journal of students who had graduated in 1998. He is more direct with the name of this list calling them the top names from the "should have died" list. Eric also had a variety of lists on his various webpages that are now lost. Dylan also had a list which was more extensive than Eric and from what I can tell included a bunch of random people.
"Today isn't a good day to be here" - This is in reference to the message/phrase of the day for Columbine High School on 4.20.99. Each day, during the second hour, there would be a message posted/broadcast called the "Thought of the Day". Many students vaguely remembered teh thought of the day as being something akin to "today isn't a good day to be here" or "You don't want to be here today" which seems ominous considering the events that transpired. The police obviously investigated this and found that the student who chose the thought for 4.20.99 was Eric Veik. He explained that the original thought was "quit your bitching" which was put forward by a senior student named James Davis who explained later that he didn't really care because he was only twoish weeks away from graduating. It can be found here in the 11k. Veik thought this was inappropriate and changed it to "how could you expect us to stay in school on a day like this?". Sometimes it is reported as "inside" as opposed to "in school". This was in reference to the unseasonably nice weather that Littleton had been receiving. It may also have had something to do with 4.20 being associated with marijuana use but Veik never said anything about that. A reporter confirmed the information with the girl who did the audio for the school RNN broadcasts and with various teachers. One interesting thing is that Eric used the phrase "quit your bitching" or "stop your bitching" when interacting with a wounded Kacey Ruegsegger in the library. She reacted to being shot and cried out and he followed it up by saying "it's just a flesh wound". I do not think there is any relation between the phrase of the day and what happened on 4.20.99.
Randy Brown - Randy Brown is the father of Eric and Dylan's friend Brooks Brown. He has been very involved in the Columbine community post 4.20.99 and even wrote a book about it. He approached the police before 4.20.99 to report Eric for making online threats against his son. He has been an outspoken critic of Jefferson County and has pushed some pretty crazy conspiracy theories. He claims to have never made a penny from Columbine but refuses to elaborate or talk about what charities his money has gone to. He has pushed the theory that Eric killed Dylan and that there was a third shooter. He is generally a pretty abrasive guy and I am not a fan. It kind of makes sense though when you look at his son who is/was a compulsive liar and all around not great person. I am sure that others disagree with my sentiments about Mr. Brown and to each his own.
r/columbine - This is a subpage of the popular social medias asite Reddit that is dedicated to those interested in the Columbine case. It can be found here. I am a member of it and there is occasionally some good conversations and topics but most of the time its just new people asking odl questions. Often, any provocative or interesting discussions that would actually push the boundaries of what we know are stifled and censored by the rigid moderators who have an inflated sense of their own power. There is another subreddit called r/columbinekillers that is supposedly dedicated to information about Eric and Dylan but it suffers from much the same fate. There are far better and more informative places to find information about Columbine where you don't have to put up with a toxic community.
Wayne's Journal - This is a reference to a journal that was kept by Eric's father Wayne Harris. The entirety of the released notebook can be found here. Wayne also kept another notebook about happenings with Eric's older brother Kevin. Sometimes I wonder if, with Eric's journals considered, that it was a family thing for keeping notes and journals of things. It was clear that Wayne was tracking and keeping tabs on Eric's behavior, but I do not think it rises to anything other than normal parent behavior. Some have claimed that the existence of the journal somehow proof that Wayne had some idea that Eric was capable or planning the events of 4.20.99. The journal specifically covers events such as Eric cracking Brooks Brown's windshield and their fight with the Brown family and Wayne's discovery of a pipe bomb that Eric had built. Wayne had Eric promise not to build any more after safley detonating it with him. With Eric's ability to lie and manipulate it is not hard to envision this conversation.
E+D were bullies - Again, I think that it is difficult to talk about bullying without an agreed upon definition of it. Were Eric and Dylan mean to other students? yes. Were they bullies in some modern sense of the word? yea probably. They literally killed a bunch of people so that's like being the ultimate bully. Had the events of 4.20.99 never happened I do not think people would have said that Eric and Dylan were bullies. It's a tough topic where people are very polarized and, unfortunately, there are some people who think any negative interaction is bullying. I may expand this in the future.
Revenge in the Commons - I'm pretty sure this refers to a passage that Dylan wrote in Eric's 1998 yearbook. It can be seen here. It isn't known exactly what this is referring to but we can take a pretty good educated guess. The specific quote is "My wrath for jaunuary's incident will be godlike. Not to mention our revenge in the commons." My guess is that "January's Incident" is in reference to the van break in and the boys subsequent detainment by law enforcement. The revenge in the commons most likely refers to an incident where a group of older students squirted ketchup packets all over Dylan and possibly Eric and also called them names. It has been variously reported that they actually put the ketchup on tampons and then threw them at the boys but I think that was a different incident the year prior that did not include Eric or Dylan. A student at Columbine named Chad Laughlin reported that he saw the end of the incident and said it was in fact with the tampons and it was only Dylan being targeted. Brooks Brown said that it was not with tampons and only was squirted packets and that it also included Eric. Brown also said that teachers watched this happen and didn't do anything which I don't buy atall. This might just be one of Brooks lies. Dylan's mom, Susan Klebold, said that it was Dylan and Eric and it was just ketchup packets. But her story might be just what Dylan told her. In the book "Far From The Tree" by Andrew Solomon, he says that Sue related to him that Dylan told her that it was the worst day of his life but didn't go into what exactly happened. There is also the possibility that the revenge in the commons also refers to an incident where students made false reports that Eric and Dylan had drugs in their backpacks and and the school searched them in the commons. I haven't been able to find any actual evidence of any of these things beyond some vague 2nd hand reports and Sue Klebold remembering Dylan coming home with some ketchup stains on his shirt.
CVA - I'm pretty sure this is about a YouTube channel called CVA, or Columbine Video Archive. The actual account name is @TheCuratorsCorner and they haven't been active in a few months. They post videos relating to Columbine such as enhance footage of Eric and Dylan and reviews fo videos. They claim to also be making videos for awareness of mental health issues and suicide prevention. Many of the videos I remember being on the channel in the past are no longer active. Not sure whether the account took them down or YouTube forced them down. Someone mentioned in the forums that the guy running the channel got a new job in the military and they asked him to stop posting weird Columbine stuff online.
Oklahoma Bombing - The bombing in Oklahoma City by Timothy McVeigh was a national event that Eric and Dylan were well aware of. I would imagine that at least Eric was somewhat influenced by this event. Seeing someone do something that they believe in regardless of what people thought about the outcome may have inspired Eric in some small way. In addition to that the fame and media attention given to McVeigh may have also been a draw for Eric. Eric mentions the OKC bombing specifically when he wrote that 4.20.99 will "be like the LA riots, the Oklahoma bombing, WWII, Vietnam, Duke and Doom all mixed together."
Basement Tapes Recreation - This refers to a 2016 short video where two boys attempt to recreate the basement tapes. A video of it can be found HERE. They had a YouTube channel called "The Basement Tapes Movie" which you can no longer find. The way back machine has a grab of it HERE. It's pretty well done and they try to be faithful to what is generally known about the tapes but the actors look nothing like Eric or Dylan. Plus the actor that is playing Dylan is a little too feminine for my opinion. I appreciate the effort and material coming from other people involved in Columbine.
Rebel Missions - The Rebel Missions were a series of late night operations run my Eric and various other people. He wrote about some of them and that can be found HERE. They usually involved walking on foot to various locales and setting off explosives or targeting specific houses for vandalism attacks. I believe there were many more "missions" than we currently know about and we most likely will never know about them.
Robert Perry - Robert Perry was a Columbine High School student who was had been expelled prior to 4.20.9. He was an actual member of the Trench Coat Mafia and was identified by many witnesses as being one of the shooters on the day of the attack. The witnesses said that they specifically recognized Perry as a shooter because of his trench coat and his facial acne scars and his crooked teeth. Those who made this positive identification include Brian Frye (JCSO, 813), Lacey Smith (JCSO, 4,465), Crystal Archuleta (JCSO, 2,346), Tessa Nelson, and Matthew Connelly. They were all told that they had just mistaken Dylan for Perry. Reports say that most of these reporting witnesses picked Perry out of a line up of pictures which also included Dylan though I cannot find any hard evidence of this. For some reason Brooks Brown told police that Dylan had extensive acne scars on his face despite this not being present in any pictures or video of him and his parents refuting it. Everybody knows Brooks Brown is a compulsive liar but I am unsure why he would lie in this instance except to push the narrative along. Perry was spotted at the local library, which was being used as a triage and command center for victims, which caused some alarm among witnesses who were sure he was part of the attack. It is also said that he worked night shift but took the 19th and 20th off. I am not sure how I feel about this one. No hard evidence that he was involved with the negative activities on 4.20.99 and that makes it tough to believe he was the third shooter.
Quit Your Bitching Coincidence - The student who chose the thought for 4.20.99 was Eric Veik. Eric used the phrase "quit your bitching" or "stop your bitching" when interacting with a wounded Kacey Ruegsegger in the library. She reacted to being shot and cried out and he followed it up by saying "it's just a flesh wound". I do not think there is any relation between the phrase of the day and what happened on 4.20.99. I think it probably was more of a reference to a line from Monty Python and the Holy Grail than anything else.
Philip Duran - Philip Duran was an associate of Mark Manes (the man who would sell Eric and Dylan their guns) and also worked with them at Black Jack Pizza. Duran was present during the Rampart Range video and other times the boys went shooting but were not filmed. He knew the boys were underage to own firearms and knew the shotguns had been illegally modified to shorten the barrels and stocks. He was convicted in June of 2000 of providing a handgun to a minor and being in possession of an illegal firearm related to a shooting. He served 4.5 years in prison as a result. He was very remorseful and understood his role in the Columbine even if he didn't know what was going to happen. I do not think Duran had any foreknowledge of what was going to take place on 4.20.99 or what Eric and Dylan were planning. There are two old articles about him HERE and HERE.
Teenwitch - Teenwitch is an album by a band called the Bones that was called a concept mixtape about the events surrounding the Columbine attack. It talks about various perspectives including Eric and Dylan's and the victims and dropped in 2014. Some people say that it is glorifying the attacks on CHS and I can understand why they would think that. I doubt that was the artist's intent but any time you say anything about Columbine and don't repeat that you're not condoning anything people hate you. In the video he is wandering around Columbine High School while the lyrics play. Some people have said that he was trespassing there, which makes some sense as the school probably wouldn't have let him in otherwise. As for the actual songs, I don't think they are actually things I would ever just listen to. I don't think there are any conspiracy theories here.
Bill Ockham - Bill Ockham is a pseudonym for a Columbine researcher active in the community. He occasionally comes up with new sources and materials that have not been seen before. Randy Brown has a weird infatuation with him. I am not a big fan of Ockham because he always over promises and underdelivers. His entire career is a trail of broken promises and half truths. He was probably originally using the username DreadPirateRoberts2000 before he decided to become Bill Ockham. He has many people in the Columbine community wrapped around his finger including the multiple columbine related subreddits. The mods continue to run interference for him and ban people who speak negatively about his lies. He has set up various GoFundMes and other financial accounts in an attempt to lure people into giving him money. He is constantly talking about the next huge release he will have with incredible information..... that never comes. Do not trust what he says. Do not assume what he does is of value to anyone but himself. Do NOT give bill Ockham any of your money.
Mark Manes - Mark Manes is the man who sold Dylan his TEC-DC9 used on 4.20.99. He also purchased 100 rounds of 9mm ammunition for Erics 995. He Was a Columbine High School graduate and used to worked at Blackjack Pizza. Along with Philip Duran he was also present during the filming of the Rampart Range video. Somewhat ironically he is heard on the video reacting to Eric and Dylan not being great at shooting by saying "That's why you don't give guns to high schoolers". He was convicted of selling a handgun to a minor and possession of illegally modified shotguns in November of 1999. He served 6 years in prison for those offenses. Similarly to Duran I do not believe that Mark Manes had any prior knowledge about what Eric and Dylan were. Eric says as much in the basement tapes:
Klebold: "I'd like to make a thank you to Mark and Phil. Thank you.''
Harris: "Yeah, you know it's not their fault. I mean they have no f------ clue.''
Klebold: "They had no clue, like people who use a horse to carry s---.''
Harris: "Don't arrest any of our friends, co-workers or family members. Don't arrest anyone. They didn't have a f------ clue and that's that.''
The Everlasting Contrast - This is a quote from Dylan's diary. "The Everlasting Contrast... Dark. Light. God. Lucifer. Heaven. Hell. GOOD. BAD." It is also the name of a pretty cool blog https://everlastingcontrast.home.blog/ . Dylan was a complicated individual and and tended to get very deep in some of his writings. I can see how he was dealing with the contrast within himself. I can also see the everlasting contrast between him and Eric.... which is interesting because they both ended up in the same place doing the same thing.
"Your clips are in" - This is in reference to an incident in December of 1998 where a clerk from Green Mountain Guns called the Harris household line to say that the "clips" or "magazines" that Eric had ordered were in. Mr. Harris answered the phone and said that he hadn't ordered any and hung up. Eric mentions this occurrence in the basement tapes, specifically on the 15th of March 1999 on tape #265. Eric says that if his father or the clerk had asked even a single question, things may have started to unravel. I wonder how the actual phone call went... if anything else was said or if it was only 10 seconds and nothing else.
"Go! Go! Go!" - Some witnesses claim they heard someone yell "Go Go Go" from the top of the stairs just as the attack began on 4.20.99. It is not known who actually said it, who they were talking to, or if it was even really said at all. If I had to guess I would say that if it was said at all, it may have been said by someone fleeing immediately after the shooting started. If it was one of the shooters I think it would have been Eric. It seems more in character for him. I suppose it is plausible that one of them said it, especially bearing in mind that their plan had just changed somewhat drastically. Instead of sitting by their cars and attacking fleeing students after the bombs detonated, they were assaulting the school on foot. In conclusion: I think something was probably said by Eric or Dylan and Go Go Go is just as plausible as anything.
ID Software Letter - This was a letter that Eric wrote and sent to ID Software detailing his thoughts and passions for the game DOOM. The text of the letter can be found HERE. It is believed that this was an eMail and not a physical letter and it is unknown if the company ever responded. I'm reasonably sure that a full compendium of Eric's sent and received eMails exist somewhere in some government or lawyers files so I am still holding out hope we may find out some day. Based on when DOOM released in 1993 and the letter saying he has been playing for 4.5 years I would estimate the letter was written sometime in late 1997 or the first half of 1998... which would make sense seeing as that was Erics prime time for DOOM level creation. This letter really showcases Erics passion for things that he enjoys. It is somewhat sad that Eric did not get to see the things from his letter come to fruition. There are Quake DOOM mods, there was a DOOM movie, the ability to free move the camera and swim were added, and the more modern engines have ways to play the older DOOM games. Thinking about all of the cool video game stuff that has come out since 1999 that Eric never got to see makes me sad.
RNN - RNN or "Rebel News Network" was the internal news/video announcement program for students. It was broadcast daily between homeroom and 3nd period. Both Dylan and Eric variously filmed/helped with projects and they were friends with Eric Veik who ran the program. An intro with Dylan lighting an RNN logo on fire can be seen HERE. Eric supposedly recorded a "ball of light" RNN into but I have never been able to find it anywhere. RNN still operates as the student announcement/news at CHS and many of them can be seen on twitter of YouTube. I have a feeling that there are various other Eric/Dylan videos somewhere in the RNN archives, or at least, there was at one point.
Dylan Interview - I am reasonably sure this is in reference to a video of Dylan being interviewed by Brooks Brown in the back of Blackjack Pizza. The video can be seen HERE. The video only surfaced recently in its longer form. There were some screenshots and shorter clips before but now we have most of it. Not much going on in it as Brooks is just asking about things from drama at school. Eric does not appear.
Time Magazine - Time magazine released two issues that dealt with what happened at Columbine. The first was released on May 3rd 1999 and was issued as Volume 153 Number 17. It can be seen HERE. The second was released on December 20th 1999 and was issued as Volume 154 Number 25. It can be seen HERE. They both have some good and some bad information in them. I do own an original copy of both. Some people have complained that the first one from May of 99 glorified Eric and Dylan in some ways. They complain that the TIME letters cover up the victims pictures but Eric and Dylan's pictures are in front of the lettering as to not obscure their faces. I cannot help but think that Eric would have loved the idea of his face being on the cover of Time.
